I really like that part of the drive. It's so starkly beautiful out there. Never again, however, will we pay chips in Lincoln and take them over the CD. When that bag exploded, it took ten years life out of us.
I suspect you figured out I meant to type "buy chips." A lot going on here this week, so my attention is split about 21 ways.
That was the night we couldn't find a hotel room. We'd been driving since 7AM and it was close to 11 PM when we went over the CD. Pitch black out there and that damn bag exploding sounded like a shotgun blast going off next to my head. We were definitely awake after that, though. I'm glad they were Doritos because once I smelled that cheesy feet smell, I knew what had happened and that we had not blown out a tire or been shot at by some crazed elk hunter.
