Staying busy
Feb. 22nd, 2010 08:54 pmThis spring will be quite busy.
- The new job begins on 3/8.
- Currently teaching an undergraduate class at SJSU and will begin teaching a graduate level class at a local company on behalf of SJSU.
- Consulting with a small lab on some very interesting failure analysis and corrosion testing; I wish I could go into more detail. I can mention that it is for several different high tech industries including renewable energy.
- Co-authoring a text book on plasma diagnostics.
Other things:
- I've decided to return to a vegetarian and ultimately vegan diet over the next 30 days.
- For a long time, I've had the goal of reducing my possessions by ~70%. I'm happy to announce that I've reduced them by 50%. I'm ripped and sold/traded/donated all my CDs. I've sold/traded/donated most of my books and continue to pare them down. I've donated 90% of my clothing.
Aside from furniture and my car, everything I own fits in the bedroom closet. Pending the divorce settlement, I may not have any furniture, except my mattress. Things feel so much lighter. I really don't need all that stuff.
Things were challenging last year; I'm sure they'll be again. Right now I'm enjoying the calm and quiet - and Michelle's laugh.
