The new baby

Gf and I picked up Earl on Friday afternoon.

She took a picture of Earl and me working very hard on Friday evening (the zoom on her iPhone isn't too great)

Here he is saying hello.

He is believed to be part: American bulldog and Dalmatian (spots can be seen under his fur on his ears.) He is somewhere around three and half months old. Adult weight estimations are between 70 and 90 pounds (31.75 to 40.82 kg)

Earl has met Max:

Earl and Max have something in common - big ears!

He's a very gentle and easy to handle puppy. I think this is part of his temperment and also the wonderful fostering he received through Pound Puppy Resue in Palo Alto. If you are looking for a dog in the Bay Area, I highly recommend them. They rescue from shelters in rural areas (where there are too many dogs and not enough adoptees) and their emphasis is on making sure puppies are never housed in shelters - recently local shelters are dealing with parvovirus.

Black Swan...meh

Just in time for the Oscar award announcements, I watched Black Swan at a local movie theater Saturday night.

It could have been a great movie. It's especially disappointing to me as Darren Aronofsky created my favorite movie, Pi which also had themes of success and paranoia.

note, lightly edited since I first posted this to add some snark

For those of you who want no movie description or plot spoilers at all, I'm going to put a cut right here )
