Changes
An interesting day.
- Helped my ex move out the last of her things. Her new studio is very nice. The cats are gone, too. It's quiet.
- Rearranged my bedroom to improve the layout. Feng Shui does make a difference apparently - it's so much more relaxed and seems like there's more space.
- Downsizing is happening at work; I am being cut to 3 days a week. My company has a very short runway left. Despite 14.5 years in Silicon Valley, this is a first for me. On a happy note, I received two calls from recruiters today.
- I immediately took some cost cutting measures including the garden clean up and design. It's sweat equity for me.
- I guess I'm supposed to take this news poorly as many of my friends were all OMGWTFBBQ!!!1! and I was grateful it's not zero days a week. Maybe I haven't absorbed the news fully.

Could it be that, in light of all the other changes going on, that the changes at work somehow fit? I know it sounds very woo-woo, but from the outside looking in, it really does seem like life/fate/destiny/The Big IT is trying to move you toward your next stage, whatever that may be.
If you should have a desire to adopt an older, healthy, but rather spoiled and plump indoor kitty, please think of me and the small ginger one. As much as I am attached to HRH, there's some things I will need to do soon that require being away from home for extended periods.

Sorry you are getting cut back at work, but funny how when we move on, by choice or not, we often end up in a better place than before. Plus, it isn't like you don't get the recruiter calls on a regular basis.

I think you need a break, and you've needed one. Just a space to breathe, after all the stress and work you've had to do in the office and at home. Having 3 days of work a week is still bringing in money -- albeit less. But it is also giving you space to breathe, to be, and adjust to your new life.

I live by the creed: when one door closes, another one opens. But it's hell in the hallway.
