Greetings from the Hudson Valley

In the Hudson Valley with my gf visiting her parents. They're funny, loving, and treat me like one of their own, not a guest (which means I get teased and yelled at)-- I love it.

Right now we're all yelling at the washing machine beeping. The family that kvetches together stays together.

I did get plague on Tuesday - that or food poisoning + a really nasty cold. I stayed in bed for the next three days before Friday's red eye here. I sound terrible right now but feel nearly normal. It's nice to be back on the East Coast. I'm enjoying the brisk air. People seem a bit friendlier, but that could simply the product of my perception and feeling relaxed.

Also: Dunkin Donuts

One more full day here and then off to Florida.

I've been very concerned about the economy and employment. It's stressing me out. I'm grateful I have a job right now though I am concerned how long I will have it. Learning to living with the fear and ambiguity.

I keep listening to Pema Chödrön's "Comfortable with Uncertainty"

It's a decent audiobook. ;)

When in doubt, let go.

Huge fan of Pema. I've not heard the audio version of that one but I have read the book.

Dunkin Donuts - a definite guilty pleasure.

Whereabouts in Florida? My family is there (Tampa Bay area).

Hey I'll be in Florida in a few weeks - let me know if you have any "stay away froms...."

Is Dunkin better than Tim's?

I'm glad you're having a good visit! And also that you're feeling better from the plague. *big hugs* Enjoy your donuts!

Well, plan what for what you can and be prepared. The rest will happen as it happens. Worry will just make you ill and not change the outcome. Take care of yourself Stef!!
