The dreaded pat down

Declined to walk through the backscatter detector at SJC this morning at 5am. The TSA agent was professional, funny, and respectful.

I know they make barely more than minimum wage so I say this wistfully - the lousy economy means mature, experienced folks now work at TSA.

so should all of us avoid the darn things? i haven't flown since they were installed but might soon and was curious as to whether to avoid them, but was leaning toward pat-down. i tend to be a bit paranoid in general and have a hard time figuring out when i'm being overly so...
