Thanksgiving
Nov. 28th, 2010 10:23 pmMellow weekend; spent Thanksgiving with my gf and her family. Traditional menu. Their family has an annual viewing of "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and the movie withstands the test of time (IMNSHO.) Of course, it was odd seeing people smoking in restaurants, arriving to the airport 5 minutes before a flight, and walking on a tarmac. Silly, good fun.
Friday we went for a walk in the park and did some window shopping (far from the Black Friday crowds - small, independent stores.) On Saturday we ventured out to do errands rewarding our bravery to venture to the Stanford Mall followed by REI with tapas. Today I spent most of the day working. I have some odd sinus/cold hybrid which has completely blocked my right ear.
My frequent business travel has been restricted to customer-only in order to save some cash for the end of quarter calculations which is just fine with me.
I miss when LJ was thriving, pre Facebook and the "brand" we create on it. I miss reading about peoples' lives. My net time is primarily news and political blogs; the Kindle is getting lots of use lately.
