The Derrida remodeling
Dec. 21st, 2011 10:48 amHouse is deconstructed. Oy!
Hopefully by Friday clean up can begin. I'm going to do a pass through and then will ask my former cleaning lady to make a visit.
We are implementing 5S+1 (the + 1 being safety at work.) It makes sense in manufacturing areas and even labs - offices not so much (cf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5S_(methodology)) Liberties with labeling are taking place in my office now.
Attended the Stanford/Tennessee women's basketball game. One of the Stanford players achieved a lifetime high score of 42 points in the game (making up for a "cold" start.) She was a machine. I had good sight of Pat Summit and was sad to see she has slowed down significantly. In a class act, Stanford handed out rally towels imprinted with the slogan, "We back Pat." Stanford's coach taped a short video segment in honor of Summit and a PSA on Alzheimers. The Stanford Neurology's Cognitive Health group handed out literature and free long sleeved t-shirts. Moving.
Busy with work and fighting red tape to get a 200k grant. Writing a 3M grant due at the end of January.
Next on the ponder list: where to move? Anywhere between Los Altos and San Francisco on the Peninsula works for me.
