On the other side of South Dakota, near one of the prettiest places in that area (Belle Fourche).

Are you going through South Dakota and Wyoming or dropping down into through Nebraska and Colorado?

well, sturgis IS far away from iowa..but i went on a huge western road trip once around this time and we were followed by bikers EVERYWHERE. i'll always remember about 40 of them zooming up to a super-8 motel. "so how many rooms do we need?" dude says, starting to count heads. comes back the answer: "ONE!"

Ah, Interstate 80. I've driven it from San Fran to well into Pennsylvania. Not all in the same trip, although I've driven SF to Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake City to Des Moines, in one day each (16 years apart).

I had forgotten about Sturgis. I love the Black Hills of South Dakota, but I don't want to share it with a million people on Harleys. They tend to ride slower than me :)
