I once made the Salt Lake City-to-Wendover, NV run with an average speed of 79 MPH, including driving all the way across SLC on surface streets. The great thing about the salt flats is that, if the mirages don't block your view, you can see the highway patrol from 40 miles away.
Edit: At first I thought you meant the "governor of Nevada"—since the speed limit on I-80 is 75 MPH most of the way across the state.
