Yesterday a friend flew in from NY via SLC on Delta. Despite the pea-soup fog we were experiencing, the Delta flight status consistently displayed that the flight was on time. 10 minutes after the scheduled flight arrival time, while circling the airport, I used Flight Tracker on Google. Delta was a bit off - by about an hour. Silly me for thinking the airline would actually have a correct flight status! The time was not totally wasted; listened to a Pema Chodron cd (more on that later.)

I took that opportunity to grab my friend some dinner at In and Out and myself a coke to stay awake (it was well after 11pm.) Some french fries may have been consumed as well. We caught up on the drive back to her place and had a good laugh. I was back at home at 1AM, didn't fall asleep until well after 2AM (cf: coke at In and Out,) woke up a few times and finally threw in the towel at 6AM.

Of note:
- The fog was more dense in San Jose than San Francisco (warmer temp, I assume.)
- I love Pema Chodron's books - her prose moves me - but audio has generally put me into a coma. Yesterday I sat (well, I lay down for meditation last night due to my hip) before my excursion to the airport and I think that helped my concentration.
- Trivia about Pema Chodron: She was born Diedre Blomfield and attended Ms. Porter's school.

Still struggling with the do I/don't I decision re the chaplaincy program. Feh.
