Las Vegas...
Dec. 6th, 2011 01:04 am...is having a cold snap. Apparently some people do not know how to dress warmly. Or at all.
Night one - La Reve. Aerialists, gymnasts, divers, and synchronized swimmers. 14 licensed scuba divers working each show. 1.1 million gallon tank. I am so curious about the mechanisms of the stage which had concentric rings and rose 30 feet out of water and out of the way of people diving more than a few stories.
Night two - dinner at Jaleo, a Jose Anders restaurant. Tapas. Yummy. Not nearly as heinously expensive as some reviews suggested. How much did those people drink?!? Amazing Sangria and even more amazing flan though my favorite was a grapefruit sorbet. A few nods to Anders molecular gastronomy but very accessible.
Fly home tomorrow. I am probably doing it wrong, but I find Vegas tacky and boring.
