- Started 8 week chaplaincy internship training at the county hospital. Already have seen somethings that make the heart hurt badly.

- A comment (meant in jest, for clarification) on FB today. I seriously hate the fact that there are *no* independent cafes near my gf's house:

Starbucks barristas: my drink is a quad espresso over ice not an americano. You screw this up at least 30% of the time. In *10* years Peet's never has. It is worth paying the extra fifty cents for Peet's ridiculously over-roasted sludge as they get the drink right. Of course they have an integrated electronic ordering system and not a crayon.

I looked at chaplain training in local hospitals some time back (two or three years ago) and didn't find something suitable; is there documentation about the program you are in that you could send to me?

Thanks!

My chaplaincy program
--> http://www.sati.org/chaplaincy-training/components/

As part of my 100 hour internship, I am volunteering as a spiritual care volunteer. It is not considered formal chaplaincy training.

Chaplaincy training is offered through:
- Universities
- Faith communities

Local programs:

My understanding is there are 3 separate licensing entities; most require an M.A. or M.Div

A quad espresso—isn't that like half a lethal dose of caffeine? I get buzzed on a Mountain Dew with only 55 mg caffeine.

Nyah, it's about half of a "bold" cup they sell.

Are you ever in Union City? There's a place M found called City Bistro that he says is very good. He makes it a point to stop there when he's in the area.

You know my feelings on Star*ucks, so there's nothing positive I can add to that topic.

I'm not willing to pay a 5.00 bridge toll for a 2.80 quad shot!! ;-)

There are few independents left; none near work :-/

When you live in civilization, Starbucks sort of defines the low-end of the quality scale (performance/coffee qualtiy/etc.). But don't leave civilization. Out here it is actually the high-end. And that makes me sad.

I actually miss the option of a Peet's once in a while.
